Use a laptop computer, apparently.
The Week magazine reports that the heat output of a laptop computer combined with the posture required for holding it in your lap raises the temperature of the scrotum by about 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Past studies have shown that an increase in temperature in this area decreases sperm count.
"After cradling a laptop for just 15 minutes, the scrotal temperatures of subjects increased by more than 2 degrees, the point at which testicular function might start to be impaired. New laptops with higher power requirements may produce even more heat, creating an even greater threat to sperm."
If you're a man and would like to maintain your reproductive fertility, it's probably best to avoid using a laptop computer on your lap. Better: put the laptop on a table or armrest before using it.
