As promised, here is the poem "Satellite Gods" that I wrote back in 1999. Granted, it's a bit pessimistic in its vision... but I think it describes modern living accurately. Enjoy!
Satellite Gods
Bow down to the satellite gods
And join the ranks of the dead.
Gape at the caged colors
That provide light for gray eyes.
The satellite gods come forth
Like insects with bristling antennae.
They hold the earth in orbit
With every colorful broadcast.
But lost is the time for revolt,
You slaves of a thing unseen.
Push the buttons on your remote
And bow down to the satellite gods.
