Dick Wilson, the man better known as "Mr. Whipple," died today, Nov. 19, at age 91.
Mr. Whipple earned his fame in more than 500 Charmin commercials between 1964 and 1985. He was famous for telling consumers, "Don't squeeze the Charmin."
Wilson's commercials were living proof that you can drive sales with commercials that irritate TV viewers.
On a side note, Dick Wilson's character is where Luke Sullivan got the title for his advertising book, Hey Whipple, Squeeze This.
