Within the last month, the number of RSS feeds pulling content from this blog have more than doubled. How did that happen?
Well, I suspect it's because of a small little tweak that I almost didn't bother to do.
Take a look at the top right corner of this blog. You'll see a Feedburner icon that displays the daily number of readers.
Ever since I added that icon, readership has risen steadily. I've taken a screenshot so you can see for yourself what a dramatic difference it's made.

Want more readers? Get a Feedburner account, and display the Feedburner icon in the top right of your blog.
Thanks for the info about this. I've been meaning to explore Feedburner more and this was the kick I needed. I now have one up on my blog at http://www.peacefulbirder.com

Ryan,
You can also visit http://www.statcounter.com for free visitor stats as well.
But I use Feedburner mostly.

Chris - Congratulations are in order... because... you took action! Way to go.
Joe - Thanks for the tip. Typepad actually has built-in traffic stats, which I find very helpful.
Also, for $25 a year (or something like that) MyBlogLog.com provides some really in-depth stats, including how people came to your site, and where they went when they left!

I also use StatCounter and Google Analytics. My engineering background has made me a sucker for anything smacking of mathematics and statistics.
Thanks for the congrats, Ryan. That was my New Year's Theme, by the way, "Take Action". I decided I had enough books and recordings and information and it was time to just do something. And it's working!

Did you get my trackback from Diane Clancy's Blog?
I know Chris O'Byrne did.
I added info that was not in your post.

I am a sucker too for bells and whistles that are math-like. I use google analytics, feedburner, clustermaps, and mapstats. I think it is so cool to see where people come from.
If you want to know what the map things are, check out my blog and the map things have links that let you get them for your own site. (that is how I found them - checking out someone else's blog).
