Kevin Trudeau, Part 2

The controversy surrounding Kevin Trudeau continues. In the past week, my first Kevin Trudeau article has received eight more comments, even though I wrote the article back in February.

The situation on Amazon.com hasn't seemed to change at all. Here are some excerpts from recent reviews.

May 14, 2005:

  • "It is not what I expected after watching the TV infomercial."
  • "What a horrible experience. It is the biggest scam ever!"

May 13, 2005

  • "Zero stars if I could. This doesn't even qualify as a book in my opinion."
  • "I watched the show, which tells you nothing. I paid $30 for the book, which also tells you nothing."

May 12, 2005

  • "What a lousy book. I'm so sorry I didn't look this book up before purchasing. He never does get to the 'cures.'"
  • "This book is awful! Don't waste your time or money on him."

May 10, 2005

  • "Kevin Trudeau is a quack."

The people who've given Natural Cures good reviews (and those are few), seem to acknowledge that the book gives little specific information, but then go on to praise Trudeau as a "hero" because of his fight against the FTC.

I went to NaturalCures.com and read the sales copy. I believe Kevin Trudeau continues to make sales because he's positioned himself as a champion of truth and a martyr.

Many times he notes that he accepts "absolutely no advertisers" on his web site, and that he doesn't promote any supplements. This is his evidence that his opinions aren't tainted and that he only tells the truth.

He then talks about his ongoing battle with regulatory agencies and says, "Please note that the FTC and FDA are actively and aggressively trying to shut down and prevent this web site from even existing."

This statement alone would cause me to pause before purchasing. You mean I could pay for a subscription and the web site could just disappear? No, thanks.

But then Trudeau really starts to hint at the incompleteness of his web site when he says: "NaturalCures.com is in its infancy"... "This is the beginning of the beginning"... "My goal is"... "My mission is"... "We have a long way to go before this web site will be fully active"... "When this web site is fully active, it may include"....

Notice how much of the language is future tense? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kevin Trudeau is coming right out and saying, "This web site is under construction!"

I wouldn't buy a subscription to NaturalCures.com based on the promise of the site's future content. I'm surprised that so many other people have.

If this article hasn't convinced you one way or another about Kevin Trudeau's book and web site, I highly suggest you do your due diligence before opening your wallet.

Catching up on some past articles, I came across the ones on Kevin Trudeau. I briefly looked at his web site and noted the following statement:
"This is the only place in the world that I know of that is not influenced by advertisers, or the desire to sell certain supplements."

It immediately struck me that Mr. Trudeau is an advertiser, his web site is nothing more than an advertisement, and that he is most certainly motivated solely by the desire to sell CDs, books, and subscriptions. His attempt to portray himself as an altruistic do-gooder fails completely from my perspective.

The following statement also struck me: "Each and every month my staff and I will be reviewing dozens of alternative health newsletters and magazines and summarizing their contents in my monthly newsletter section." From the feedback, it doesn't appear that any of that is occurring. Makes me wonder how large his "staff" is.

The one actual promise he makes is: "When you join this website you'll also be able to e-mail me any question you have and know that you can get the answers that you seek from an honest unbiased source." Sounds like this is the one promise to which he can be held legally.

Don't think I'll be purchasing anything from him now or in the future!

I like this guy. Everything he says is true about the FTC and FDA. Even if he doesn't hardly get into the cures as much, he is exposing what's wrong with our Nazi-like government. If you want a natural cure, just Google it. Plus, he does get into the cures a lot. Read the book!

I have never seen so many truly ignorant people in one place at one time. No one forced you to spend $30.00 for this book. If you purchased from a bookstore, you could of went through the book to see the whether or not the content is what you thought it would be, and therefore chosen not to purchase. I disagree that this book does not contain natural remedies. I found many many natural cures in this book. May not standard form of take a pill and be healed forever, but the book is extremely informative. I have yet to hear one person say that they applied the natural advice contained in the book and did not benefit from it.

We live in a society of the "quick fix". No one wants to make any changes in what they are doing to their bodies, but they want a pill, or herbal remedy to magically make them healthy. I read this book cover to cover twice and feel that if you have even a half-open mind you can receive extreme benfit from the book. I paid $30.00 for this book, and it is worth three times that much.

I just have a question. Mr. Kevin Trudeau, I've seen you on T.V. and saw you know of some cure, do you by any chance know of any cures for premature baldness, cuz I started loosing my hair when I was only 17, and by 21, been bald since then. Do you know of any cures, and if so could you please e-mail them to me, I would really appreciate it. I don't suffer weight problems though. Just premature baldness, wrinkling, and severe allergies.

You can judge this book simply by looking at the rabbid, panicked reaction to it by the old-school mainstream media, pharma/medical/industrial complex & government. They are scrambling. heh
This book is 100% perfectly spot-on, it gives ALL the cures for every ailment. It's just people don't get the concept of taking responsibility for their OWN health & well being. anyways...Kevin Trudeau is a brave & courageous guy telling it like it is...

this book is making me crazy. i feel like i have to change everything in my life. but he really does not sell anything, he is just pointing out what you should not be doing (microwaves, chlorine, tap water, non-organic foods, medicines) i mean, maybe he is right about this stuff.

I listened to the CD. I'd like to know how anyone could be unimpressed. Verifying just one of his many claims would make major news worldwide if it were allowed to happen without intervention. If you want to expose him, then disprove what he has to say.

Simple. Right.

There are presently, roughly 2,000 lawsuits that have been filed against Merck & Co. over Vioxx related deaths. Injury Lawyers are right now literally licking their chops as there are now 12 more additional prescription drugs that were either rushed to approval by the F.D.A.or they had shown insufficent or false data as to their potentially deadly side effects. They are:Celebrex,Crestor,Protopic,Premarin,Accutane,Ovide,Depo-Provera,Elidel,Lariam,Serevent,Meridia,Zoloft,Effexor,Zelnorm,Prempro.Is it not also very interesting that the television & magazine ads for every single one of these listed drugs, been pulled, stopped, vanished? And Kevin is the bad guy not telling the truth? People you need to get your head out of the sand & smell the coffee!Prescription drugs are deadly!I really can not believe you are calling Kevin Trudeau the bad guy here.Everything he says in the book is the 100% gospel truth. You will see that very, very soon indeed. He will be proven 100%correct on everything he says in the book.In fact, the twelve drugs I just listed is just the tip of the iceberg folks. There will be more....many more to come.Kevin is the only one with enough balls to speak the truth.Kevin we love you & stand with you 1000%.

I BOUGHT THIS BOOK ALSO AND BELIEVE ALOT OF WHAT KEVIN SAYS. HE SAYS "DO NOT USE TEFLON OR NON STICK POTS AND PANS, JUST LAST WEEK DUPONT IS NOW TAKING IT OFF THE MARKET. THINK ABOUT THE THINGS HE SAYS FOLKS IT DOES MAKE ALOT OF SENSE. OUR FAMILY IS NOW STARTING TO EAT ORGANIC FOODS ( WHICH ARE GREAT ). MY HUSBAND AND I ARE DOING CLEANSINGS AND FEELING GREAT. NO, I WILL PAY FOR HIS WEB SITE, BECAUSE I FEEL THERE IS ENOUGH INFORMATION IN BOOKS TO ANSWER ALOT OF QUESTIONS, WE JUST HAVE TO TAKE CONTROL OF OUR LIVES AND STICK TO BEING HEALTHY. YES IT IS HARD TO STOP EVERYTHING RIGHT AWAY BUT WE ARE GOING TO DO IT SLOWLY. BUT WE ARE GOING TO DO IT.

I believe everything Trudeau writes in his book except one major thing. He repeatedly and emphatically says that he isn't selling anything and that's why we can trust him. Yet, his web site and book repeatedly and emphatically state that, "Kevin Trudeau has built a $2 billion dollar empire selling the products that he uses and believes in 100%." He does "plug" certain brands and products, whether he's doing it for profit or for the good of people, and sells books, cds, etc.
Some information on basic cures are available for free on the website, and yet, at every page their is the "join now for $9.95 a month" URL that pushes you to give him money. It is true that money talks, and that the proliferation of cheap natural health should be a major push in our society, but doesn't it seem odd that Trudeau, who reportedly has a history of scamming, and has a highly marketable book cover and title, is making millions? I believe in what he is doing, but I believe that extreme caution should be taken with Trudeau.

It took me much searching to find a phone number for Trudeau's shady website. I unwittingly signed up for its membership and quickly found the website had nothing to offer. For those who might need it the number to call to cancel is 847-777-7131. I won't make that mistake again!

I LIKE HIS BOOK, I HEALED MY SELF WITH NATURAL REMEDIES AND SUPPLMENT, I HEAR IT FROM OTHERS TOO. BY THE WAY I HAVE JUST BOUGHT HIS RECENT BOOK.

Who is lying? Is it our politicians and big business? Of course it is. We are all being poisoned and then lied to and charged exorbitant prices for the privelidge. Kevin Trudeau has exposed the fact that World War 3 has already started and is being waged against all of humanity by some very rich, greedy and evil people. Stop giving these people money for poisonous drugs and lets have them all charged for their heinous crimes. Kevin Trudeau IS a hero.

Regrettably, I'm afraid thatTrudeau is nothing more than a snake oil salesman. His book offers no "revealed natural cures", rather a mishmash of long known actual natural cures and questionable "spiritual" cures. Much of the book is a panegyric on how corrupt the drug marketing system is--known and better documented by several actual doctors--and how the FDA is trying to shut him down and up.

Further, his web site is "under concrtuction", but you are urged to subscribe to it anyway.

Finally, even his shipping charges seem to be a scam. You are urged to pay ten bucks for expedited delivery, which turns out to be three weeks or so. The post office would be faster and cheaper.

My conclusion is that Trudeau's operation is a complete scam, and possibly even a dangeroous one in that one of his suggestions is that you stop taking all your prescription drugs.

i agree with everything trudeau is saying. the only problem i have is that he doesnt put his cures into the book. on some of these infomercials you can get the books for free. im only halfway through the book, listening to it and it keeps refering me to the website to signup to get the cures which he could not put in the book. this book is mistitled there are no cures in it. or nothing we dont already know about

Kevin Trudeau is right on about everything he writes about...I have taken many of his suggestions and I am happier and healthier for it!!..I haven't been sick in over 3 years. You have to take some repsposibility for your health!! The Doctors are trained by the pharmacuetical industry, who cares only about selling more drugs...hello...our country has the most disease, the most obesity...the fast food industry has blame in this too as well as the food industry. They are all in it together to make sure we are not healthy and happy so they can make thier money...wake up people!!!
Stop trying to see the bad and take resposibility for your own health!!!

He's a scam. What he is writing may partly be true. But he's into it for the money.

I've read Tredeau's book and it has changed the way I live. My boyfriend and I eat much more healthy, drink better water, and do not take any medications. The other day I tried eating some regular food again with the man-made chemicals in it and got sick. These chemicals are NOT suppose to be in our food, it simply makes you addicted to them, it make you want more, and ultimately more fat! This book is filled with loads of facts and helpful information. It's clear Tredeau is just wanting to inform and help people!!!Anyone who tells you that this book and this man are doing people no good, is trying to get rid of Tredeau because they feel threatened by his knowledge and confidence to speak what he knows. I got this book for free off an informercial...I would have actualy paid for this book after reading it and knowing what's so messed up about our government and FDA. Just go to Barnes and Noble and read through the book...what can it hurt...plus you'll end up wanting to thank him for spreading the word!
