Viral Marketing in Action

Starbucks has created a new web site where you can create invitations and send them to friends. I thought it was a pretty neat idea. I just sent an invitation to a friend of mine.

I discovered the site on the bottom of a receipt. The copy says:

Friends love last-minute invites.
Create an invite at www.letsmeetatstarbucks.com

Everybody who buys a beverage or pastry or coffee beans at Starbucks gets the same message. How fast do you think word will spread?

You can try out the web site for yourself here:

Crazy... I Actually Won!

Last week, I mentioned that Terry Dean was offering two packages of Dan Kennedy tapes in exchange for Trackbacks to his blog.

I decided to participate, and I'm glad I did... because I actually won!

The box of tapes showed up yesterday in the mail. I was excited to find some of the programs I had considered buying in the past, but hadn't purchased yet.

For instance, Copywriting Seminar-In-A-Box as well as Magnetic Marketing. I now own both of them, all because I took a few minutes to give Terry a Trackback.

Click here to see the picture of all the tapes I received.

Final Winners of Great CD Giveaway

As you may already know, Michel Fortin was Winner #14. He passed his prize on to Marcus Fisher during a recent webinar. Marcus chose Laws of Inner Wealth.

Winner #15 was Edward Santosh, an aspiring copywriter from India. He selected Close the Deal.

Winner #16 was David Airey, a talented graphic designer from Scotland. He is not the first Scotsman to be a winner in this giveaway... he's the second! Now what are the chances of that? David received the last program I had: Rich Dad's Road to Riches.

So this concludes the The Great CD Giveaway. If you participated, I thank you dearly. And if you did not win, please continue to watch this blog. I'll be starting some more giveaways soon... giveaways where you'll have more control over whether you win or not. :-)

My Best,

Ryan

P.S. I mailed the final three CD programs today (5/9/07) by postal service.

Michel Fortin to Give Away CD Program Tonight

A quick update re: The Great CD Giveaway.

I decided to draw all three of the remaining winners today. And I did.

The first winner--Winner #14 overall--was Michel Fortin.

I notified him by email. But... because Michel already has the three remaining audio programs, he chose not to make a selection.

Instead, he's going to give away his CD program to one person who participates in his webinar tonight. You can get the details here.

Winner #13 - Brian Ochsner

I just had my son draw this week's winner of The Great CD Giveaway. And the winner is Brian Ochsner!

Brian actually lives here in Denver. I met him in the fall of 2005 at a copywriting seminar hosted by Ken Calhoun and Michel Fortin.

Since then we've gotten together a few times to chat over lunch.

There are four audio programs left from which Brian can choose. Only three more names will be drawn before this promotion has ended. Of course, I'll keep you posted.

Winner #12 - Joseph Ratliff

I think today's winner of The Great CD Giveaway may be more excited than any of the previous winners.

How can I say that?

Because he has emailed me almost every Monday morning to see who the winner is. It's a nice reminder for me. And, of course, I'm glad he's been engaged in the process of this giveaway.

So, without further adieu... Winner #12 is... Joseph Ratliff!

Joe happens to be friend of mine. We've chatted on the phone several times, and he's an excellent strategic thinker. He also happens to be an up-and-coming copywriter who has written a few home runs for his clients.

So this week, Joe gets to choose any of the remaining audio programs in The Great CD Giveaway and I will mail it to him promptly.

Note: Next Monday I will be traveling, so I will choose the next winner on Tuesday, April 24.

Winner #11 - JP Maroney

My daughter just drew this week's winner of The Great CD Giveaway. And the winner is... JP Maroney!

JP and I have been acquainted for over a year now. He's a great guy, and a sharp businessman. In fact, he's the mastermind behind many successful businesses, both online and offline.

He's also an accomplished public speaker who earns speaking fees as high as $7,000 for 45 minutes on the stage. It's no wonder he recently filled up his Speaker Formula coaching program... again.

JP gets to choose any of the remaining audio programs listed here, and I will mail it out to him. If you'd like to participate, simply read the instructions I've posted here.

Winner #10 - Cory Fossum

I woke up at 5 a.m. to play racquetball with my neighbor across the street. When I came back home, I realized I had totally spaced drawing a winner yesterday. Sorry about that.

My daughter Annabelle is up and at 'em, so I had her draw the name. Winner #10 is... Cory Fossum!

Cory and I met almost a year ago at Armand and Alex's Customer Seminar in L.A. Not only is Cory a "MacHead"--he also writes for Apple, which I think is pretty cool.

Since Cory is Winner #10, he gets his pick of the remaining audio courses listed on my Great CD Giveaway page. Congratulations, Cory!

Winner #9 - Stephen Dean

My kids are in bed now, so I've drawn today's winner of The Great CD Giveaway. I held the Ziploc bag up high, shook up the tiny slips of paper, and drew one name.

And that name is... Stephen Dean!

A little bit about Stephen. Back when I was getting MY start in Internet marketing--about 5 years ago--I was one of Stephen's subscribers. He published a newsletter that I thought was exceptionally helpful. He used a watermelon cartoon character in all his publications. (Although I still haven't seen a picture of Stephen.)

Stephen is Winner #9, and as such, gets to choose any of the remaining audio programs listed here. Once he makes his selection, I'll mail it out. (In fact, I have to mail Mike Sansone's program too. He chose Lessons in Mastery by Anthony Robbins when he was randomly selected as Winner #8.)
