Word of mouth marketing is extremely powerful. And honestly, ever since I read Buzzmarketing over a year ago, I haven't seen many good examples of it in the real world.
But that changed this week. I learned about CBS's plans to pring logos and ad slogans on 35 million eggs this fall.
Here's the crazy part. The eggs haven't even been printed yet and people are writing about it. I read about it in The Week Magazine. Now I'm telling you. See how quickly it's spreading?
People are talking about these "remarkable eggs" because they are out of the ordinary. They are unusual. So they make for good conversation.
Want to know something about me? I want to be seen as a person who's "up" on what's happening in the news. I want to be seen as a well-read, intellectual person.
Most people are the same as me. That's why they spread the word like I do. :-)
If you happen to be buying eggs this fall, look for CBS's eggs. They'll say things like "CSI: Crack the Case on CBS," "The Amazing Race: Scramble to Win on CBS," and "Shark: Hard-Boiled Drama."
