Just this week, three unrelated things have happened that have really attuned me to the importance of using irresistible offers in my sales copy.
First, I ordered Mark Joyner's new book The Irresistible Offer. I am eagerly anticipating it because I believe Mark is onto something... that is, it's very difficult to write copy that sells unless you have an irresistible offer. If you don't, your effort to break through all the advertising clutter is almost doomed from the start.
Then, just this morning, I was listening to Brian Keith Voiles Ad Magic program. He spends a lot of time talking about the importance of having an irrestistible offer and writing your order form first. By writing the order form first, it forces you to be clear about your offer, which he says is one of the most important parts of your sales piece.
The third thing that happened was I came across what I believe is an irresistible offer while going through the ValPak. It's for the weight loss market. Here's what it says:
"Eat Free for a Week!" - 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, 7 dinners, and 7 desserts for FREE!
There is a striking before and after photo of a woman who lost 35 pounds right next to the offer.
Now - if you're trying to lose weight, that means you already greatly enjoy eating food. So what better way to attract the attention of the weight loss market than to offer them a week of free food! Quite frankly, it's brilliant.
In your own copywriting, see what you can do to make your offers irresistible. Your conversion rates are almost guaranteed to go up.
